Deforestation is the largest negative human impacts on rainforests around the world. Only 6% of the Earth is covered by rainforests making this biome very limited. There used to be more of these forests but because of deforestation these important forests are disappearing, In fact every second, a section of rainforest the size of a football field is being cut down. Doing this isn't only getting rid of this biome but it is also harming the species that live there. Deforestation is causing the world to lose over 100 species a day, which amounts to 50 000 species a year.
